Notable achievements for January 2018:
- Rehabilitation Services (DRS): The Vocational Rehabilitation Program assisted 134 clients in obtaining successful competitive and integrated employment. In addition, 59 clients were released from the Order of Selection wait list to start working towards developing individualized plans for employment.
- Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired (DSBVI): DSBVI hired a new Deafblind Specialist. She will work closely with the Deafblind in Utah, as well as coordinate with the Helen Keller National Center.
- Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DSDHH): DSDHH provided a Hunter Safety course for the first time for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community to learn proper safety and to earn a Hunter Education Registration certificate after passing the 6-week training and passing the examination. As part of the course, the participants also were able to go to the Lee Kay Shooting Center. All nine participants passed the course and examination.
