Notable achievements for September 2017:
- Rehabilitation Services (DRS): The Vocational Rehabilitation Program assisted 249 clients in obtaining successful competitive and integrated employment. In addition, 140 clients were released from the Order of Selection wait list to start working towards developing individualized plans for employment.
- Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired (DSBVI):During the month of September, the Training and Adjustment Services (TAS) held its annual offsite camping trip. TAS students participated in a slot canyon hike, explored Goblin Valley, and enjoyed white water rafting under the supervision and training of TAS personnel. Students experienced a variety of new challenges that included cooking in a group at the campsite, setting up tents, starting a campfire, and leading a campfire activity. Individual success, team work and confidence were gained by all participants.
- Disability Determination Services (DDS): DDS completed the Federal Fiscal Year ending in September and reached all the SSA production goals for the year.
- Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DSDHH): On Sept 8, a celebration was held to celebrate the 25 year anniversary of the Sanderson Center. Almost 500 people attended this event which included dinner, a theatrical program and awards ceremony. A beautiful history panel was unveiled as well.
