Performance Data: Blind and Visually Impaired

The Division of Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired (DSBVI) provides services such as Low Vision Clinics and recommendations, specialized case management services to clients throughout the State of Utah, and training services to increase independence and employment opportunities.

Training and Adjustment Services

Training and Adjustment Services (TAS) is an extensive training program that offers a variety of classes for individuals who are blind and visually impaired such as learning Braille, computers, home management, needle arts, woodworking, orientation/mobility, and job readiness.

Low Vision Program

The Low Vision program assists clients statewide with finding the right optical devices. The clinics allow clients to try various equipment to identify the best-suited products for their needs.

Support Service Provider Program

The Support Service Provider (SSP) Program serves individuals who are deaf/blind. The program encourages clients to improve community integration, independence and access to their environment. The SSP may educate and assist clients with errands, bill management, transportation, reading, and familiarization with their physical environment.
