2009 OPEN HOUSE WAS A SUCCESS!
The Utah Center for Assistive Technology and the Computer Center for Citizens
with Disabilities hosted an open house in September. Joining us at our
event for the second time this year was Citizens Re-utilizing Assistive Technology
Equipment (CReATE).
People that visited our facility discovered:
--Accessible Vehicles with Lifts and Ramps
--Augmentative Communication Devices
--Refurbished Wheelchairs and Scooters
--Assistive Technology Demonstrations
--Funding and Legal Information
--Electronic Aids to Daily Living
--Adaptive Computer Products
--Refreshments
With continuing interest both by the public and from vendors that UCAT works with, the Open House had too much to enclose indoors. Some of the things that visitors learned was how modern technology could help people to cope with the functional limitations that disabilities impose on daily living activities.
If you missed us this year, be sure to check us out next year in the Fall at what has become an Assistive Technology Fair.
