Utah Augmentative Alternative Assistive Communication and Technology Teams
Established in 1987 by forward thinking educators and administrators of the Utah State Office of Education, the UAAACT project is dedicated to improving the communication skills of students with disabilities across the state of Utah.
The State of Utah is divided into 24 regional areas with one UAAACT team serving each region. In some cases the team will serve multiple school districts, and in other cases the school district may be large enough to have more then one team.
Teams consist of, but are not limited to, speech pathologists, teachers, psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, administrators, computer specialists, audiologists, and vision specialists.
A parent, teacher or other concerned individual may refer a student for an assistive technology evaluation. In order to refer a student to a UAAACT Team for an evaluation, simply complete a UAAACT referral form and submit it to the UAAACT team leader or the special education director in your school district.
